The Book of Jasher

The Book of Jasher and Holy Bible

The Book of Jasher (also, Jashar) or the Book of the Upright or the Book of the Just Man

This is one of the apochrypal Books of Jasher. There are several (as many as five) separate works by this title, all composed much later than Biblical times. This particular one is a translation of a Hebrew book printed in 1613. Sepir Ha Yasher, the Hebrew title of this book, means the 'Book of the Upright', or 'the Upright or Correct Record'. This title was misread as 'Jasher', and at some point Jasher was treated as a proper name; however the pronoun 'the' (hebrew 'ha') never preceeds proper names.

This text covers much of the same ground as the traditional Mosaic books of the Bible, from the creation of the world to the death of Moses, albeit with several minor variations.

Le Livre de Jasher (également, Jashar) ou le Livre du Montant ou le Livre du Juste

Ceci est l'un des livres de apochrypal Jasher. Il y en a plusieurs (jusqu'à cinq) œuvres séparées par ce titre, tous les composés beaucoup plus tard que les temps bibliques. Celui-là est une traduction d'un livre imprimé en hébreu en 1613. Sepir Ha Yasher, le titre hébreu de ce livre, signifie le « Livre du Montant » ou 'le Montant ou enregistrement correct. Ce titre a été mal interprété comme « Jasher », et à un moment donné Jasher a été traité comme un nom propre; mais le pronom « la » (Hebrew « ha ») les noms propres ne précède.

Ce texte couvre une grande partie du même terrain que les livres traditionnels en mosaïque de la Bible, de la création du monde à la mort de Moïse, mais avec plusieurs variations mineures.
